Top-seeded Gulls bounce Nor'easters from TCCC Playoffs

BEVERLY, Mass. -- First-year attackers Brian Estes (Derry, N.H.) and Connor McCormack (Norwalk, Conn.) each tallied three scores to help No. 1 Endicott College to a 16-4 victory over eighth-seeded University of New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship quarterfinal round action Saturday afternoon.

The Gulls (11-7) advance to Wednesday's semifinal against fourth-seeded Roger Williams University, a 12-11 winner over Salve Regina University. The Nor'easters end their season with a record of 6-11.

Endicott opened up a 7-1 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Seven different players scored in the frame for the Gulls. The hosts went on to lead 11-2 at the half, and cruised after intermission.

Senior Jonathan Prentiss (Chelmsford, Mass.) and juniors Jack Curtis (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Chris Cotter (Norwalk, Conn.) added two goals apiece for the Gulls, who outshot UNE 49-29 and won 17 of 24 faceoffs.

Junior Michael Woods (Kittery Point, Maine) notched a pair of goals for the Nor'easters. Sophomore Nate Porter (Cohasset, Mass.) made 11 saves.
