GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Sophomore Dylan Thomas notched six markers and his younger brother Tyler Thomas scored five as the University of New England rolled to a 20-5 win over Guilford College in men's lacrosse action at the Armfield Athletic Center Wednesday evening.

Tied 2-2 in the latter part of the first period, the attacking duo from Pleasantville, N.Y. combined for five consecutive goals over the next 13 minutes to give the Nor'easters (3-2) control. UNE added seven more onto the run that spanned into the third period to put the contest out of reach.

Dylan registered three assists to go with his career-high goal total, while Tyler bested his six-point performance from last week with seven points.

UNE, which out-shot the Quakers 58-38, also received a pair of goals from both junior Steve Smith (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore Luke DiFiore (Gloucester, Mass.).

Sophomore goalie Nate Porter (Cohasset, Mass.) stopped 16 shots for the Nor'easters, who return home for their The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) opener against Anna Maria College Saturday (3:30 p.m.).

Guilford got two goals apiece from sophomores Chris Ashcraft (Mt. Airy, Md.) and Daniel Dowd (Friendship, Md.). Junior Mark Guillen (Ashburn, Va.) made 15 saves.

The Quakers (0-7) host Randolph-Macon College Saturday as they open Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.
