Five different individuals won events Saturday as the Nor'easters picked their second win

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- The University of New England women's swimming team won 12 of 14 events to defeat UMass Dartmouth, 177-116, Saturday afternoon at the Tripp Center.
Junior
Lizzie Wareham (Osterville, Mass.) won three races for the Nor'easters (2-1), who swam to victory despite giving up 32 uncontested points for diving events that only the Corsairs competed in.
After a comfortable win in the 200-yard butterfly (2:39.34), Wareham squeaked out the 100-yard freestyle (57.98) and 100 fly (1:03.83) by 0.57 and 0.21 seconds, respectively.
Fellow juniors
Sara Shea (Peabody, Mass.) and
Jessica Sweeney (Hampton, N.H.), as well as sophomore
Meaghan Arsenault (Methuen, Mass.), each chipped in with a pair of wins. Shea took the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (1:15.89/2:43.25), Sweeney won the 500 and 1,000 free (5:44.30/11:42.10), and Arsenault claimed the 100- and 200-yard backstroke (1:06.63/2:23.79).
First-year
Alex Gabriels (East Greenbush, N.Y.) was the other UNE individual to win an event, posting 2:26.64 in the 200-yard IM.
For UMD (1-2), sophomore Morgan Cooper (Sunderland, Mass.) and junior Brittany Dupuis (Milford, Mass.) won events (200 and 50 free, respectively).
UNE took both relay events, including a 0.13-second win in the meet's initial race -- the 200-yard medley relay.
Big Blue returns to the pool next Saturday (November 13), taking part in the Regis College Invitational.
