WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Sophomore
Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) recorded 15 kills without an attack error as the University of New England volleyball team defeated Worcester State University, 3-1, in the day's final match at the 30th annual Crabtree Invitational hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University Saturday at Geissler Gymnasium.
Set scores were 25-14, 25-15, 24-26 and 25-13.
Curran, who was also credited with a pair of blocks, was named to the all-tournament team for the Nor'easters, who improved their record to 12-8. She piled up 35 kills over UNE's final two matches.
Senior
Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) aided in the win with 11 kills, while first-year setter
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) registered a double-double, handing out 31 assists and digging out 12 balls. She also served up four aces.
In the back row, junior
Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) established a career high with 17 digs. Sophomore
Jackie Stone (Saginaw, Mich.) and first-year
Nicole Kalinowski (Tucson, Ariz.) each added 10.
