PAXTON, Mass. -- Sophomore Justin Hyland (Leicester, Mass.) notched two first-half goals to help Anna Maria College top the University of New England, 3-0, in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer contest Saturday afternoon at Klingle Field.
After going winless in their first 10 games, the Amcats now sit at 3-10 overall (2-6 TCCC). The Nor'easters fall to 3-6-3 on the season (1-5-2 TCCC) with their fourth consecutive setback.
Hyland put the hosts on the board early, converting a pass from classmate Cody Moules (Billerica, Mass.) two minutes into the match. With one minute remaining in the initial frame, sophomore Enco Lika (Worcester, Mass.) set up Hyland to make it 2-0.
Moules assisted on a 57th minute goal by senior John Barbale (Charlton, Mass.) to complete the scoring.
Junior Mike Dandurand (Warwick, R.I.) made two saves for Anna Maria, which hosts Salve Regina University Tuesday.
For UNE, which faces Wentworth Institute of Technology Wednesday in Biddeford (4 p.m.), senior goalie
