BRISTOL, R.I. -- The Roger Williams University women's volleyball team inched closer to securing the top seed in the upcoming The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship with a 3-1 victory over the University of New England Wednesday evening.
Set scores went 25-13, 18-25, 25-19, 25-14.
With the victory, the Hawks (24-5 overall) remained unbeaten in conference play at 8-0. UNE saw its five-match win streak come to an end to fall to 17-10, 4-4 in TCCC action.
Senior Rebekah Dion (Old Saybrook, Conn.) and first-year Kristie Luczynski (Kensington, Conn.) each had 11 kills to lead the way for Roger Williams, which posted a .272 attack percentage compared to the Nor'easters' .106 mark.

Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) had nine kills and two aces for 11 points, while senior
Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) added six kills. First-year setter
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) chipped in 27 assists and 12 digs to register her second consecutive double-double and eighth overall.
Big Blue wraps up its regular season Saturday with a TCCC tri-match at Western New England College. The Nor'easters will play Eastern Nazarene College at 1 p.m. and the host Golden Bears at 3 p.m.
