QUINCY, Mass. -- Junior Kara Webber (Marshfield, Mass.) drove home a free kick with 1:40 remaining to give the host Eastern Nazarene College Lions a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the University of New England Nor'easters in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer action played Wednesday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Despite the loss, the Nor'easters (11-6, 8-5 TCCC) will host an opening-round game when the 2010 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship gets underway Saturday. The fourth-seeded Nor'easters will host No. 5 Salve Regina University, with the official start time to be announced tomorrow.

After UNE was whistled for a foul just outside the box, Webber directed a high shot into the back of the net for her team-leading 11th goal of the season to cap the Lion comeback. At the 70th minute, Webber had knotted the game on a breakaway.

The Nor'easters took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute when junior Katie Caron (Winslow, Maine) gathered a loose ball off a rebound and slid home her eighth goal of the season, tying her for the team lead in that category.

For the game, Big Blue held a 17-12 advantage in shots, but Eastern Nazarene took five corner kicks to UNE's three.

First-year goalkeeper Lisa Clark (West Deptford, N.J.) made a total of nine saves to record the victory for the Lions (6-9-2, 4-8-1), who defeated UNE for the first time in 12 meetings between the two squads.

Junior Jess Woodworth (Concord, N.H.) and junior Alice Read (Auburn, Maine) split time in goal for the Nor'easters. The duo combined for five stops.
