Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.), the University of New England volleyball team pushed its win streak to five with a 3-1 win (25-14, 25-18, 22-25, 25-16) over Newbury College Saturday afternoon in a contest played at Hellenic College.
First-year
Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) had nine kills for the Nor'easters (17-9), while sophomore
Lindsey Cashell (Merrimack, N.H.) and senior
Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) each had six. Cashell added 11 digs defensively.
First-year setter
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) recorded her seventh double-double with 33 assists and 13 digs. She also served-up four aces and was perfect on all 19 of her attempts at the service line. Junior
Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) added eight digs and successfully passed all 20 serves that came her way.
Jessy Touron had five kills and 13 digs to lead the host Nighthawks (8-14).
The Nor'easters return to action Wednesday when they head to Bristol, R.I. for a key The Commowealth Coast Conference showdown with first-place Roger Williams University (7 p.m.).
