Nor'easters roll to 3-1 victory over Framingham State

Junior Abby Davis narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and 12 digs

NEWTON, Mass. -- The trio of sophomore Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.), senior Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) and junior Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) accounted for 30 kills as the University of New England defeated Framingham State University, 3-1, in a women's volleyball tri-match hosted by Lasell College Saturday.

The Nor'easters (9-6) dropped the first set by a score of 25-20 before rebounding to win the next three (25-14, 25-16, 25-23).

Curran had a team-high 11 kills to pace the UNE attack. Edwards put down 10 balls, while Davis had nine kills to go with 12 digs. First-year setter Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) handed out 20 assists and served-up a team-best five aces.

Defensively, first-year Kirsta Adie (Tyngsboro, Mass.) had 19 digs and sophomore Jackie Stone (Saginaw, Mich.) was credited with 12.
