MILTON, Mass. -- Trailing by one late in regulation, junior Kiel Hiller (Galloway, N.J.) scored his first goal of the season at the 87:35 mark to level to match and help the University of New England come away with a 4-4 double overtime tie with Curry College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer action Tuesday evening at Walter M. Katz Field.

With their second straight draw, the Nor'easters sit at 3-7-5 overall (1-6-4 TCCC). After four consecutive setbacks, the Colonels move to 6-10-1 on the season (3-7-1 TCCC).

Sidelined since September 8 with an injury, Hiller notched the equalizer on a breakaway, tucking a shot into the lower right corner.

Curry out-shot UNE 9-2 in the extra sessions, but could not get another shot past Big Blue senior goalkeeper Jon Planer (Yarmouth, Maine), who posted six of his career-high 22 saves in overtime.

The Nor'easters looked at a 2-1 deficit during halftime, but pulled even in the 61st minute on a goal by sophomore Kevin Tarr (Hermon, Maine).

First-year Kyle McGlone (Peabody, Mass.) tallied his second marker of the night in the 68th minute off a pass from classmate Steve Contestabile (Hilton, N.Y.), giving the visitors a 3-2 lead.

The Colonels continued to fire off shots, and broke through in the 84th minute with two goals 46 seconds apart to regain the advantage. Sophomore Eric Guglielmello (Paxton, Mass.) made it 3-3 off a pass from classmate Brandon Martins (Attleboro, Mass.), then set-up first-year Ephesien Simpson (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) for the go-ahead goal.

For the game, Curry finished with a 39-15 cushion in shots and a 15-1 edge in corner kicks.

Senior Cody Lapointe (Pownal, Maine) assisted on McGlone's first goal of the match in the 14th minute to get UNE on the board in the early-going. The score was Big Blue's first in over 534 minutes of action.

Martins helped the Colonels make it 1-1 in the 19th minute, leaving a ball for sophomore Devin Sadlers (Somerset, Mass.) who placed it into the upper right corner.

Curry went on top before intermission, as Guglielmello registered an assist on a goal by first-year Cameron Baer (Epping, N.H.) in the 35th minute.

Both teams return to the pitch Saturday. The Colonels, which received four saves from junior Brian Newsome (Lawrenceville, N.J.), travel to Western New England College for an 11 a.m. contest.

UNE will entertain Nichols College on Senior Day at 3:30 p.m.
