Sophomore Jill Goldstein contributed five kills in the Nor'easters' 3-0 sweep of Wentworth
BOSTON -- First-year
Nicole Kalinowski (Tucson, Ariz.) had five kills and 16 digs to help lead the University of New England volleyball team to a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-22, 25-16) over host Wentworth Institute of Technology in the final match of a The Commonwealth Coast Conference tri-match Saturday at Tansey Gymnasium.
Kalinowksi added a pair of blocks and two service aces for the Nor'easters, who improved to 14-9 overall and 4-3 in TCCC play. Sophomore
Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) had a team-high seven kills, while sophomore
Jill Goldstein (Lynnfield, Mass.) came off the bench to put down five balls. Seniors
Meghan Flynn (Stoneham, Mass.) and
Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) had four apiece.
UNE also received a solid performance from first-year
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.), who handed out 18 assists to go with nine digs. Senior
Angie Gust (Manitowoc, Wisc.) chipped in eight digs.
The Leopards (5-17, 2-6) suffered their fifth consecutive setback.
