BRISTOL, R.I. -- Roger Williams University put two scores on the board in the opening 5:39, and played the University of New England even the rest of the way en route to a 3-1 The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer victory Saturday afternoon at Bayside Field.
With the win, the Hawks (11-3) remain unbeaten in league play at 10-0, and have now taken five of the last six meetings against the Nor'easters. Big Blue falls to 10-4 on the season, and sits at 7-3 in TCCC contests.
RWU junior Laurin Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) put the hosts in front just 1:52 into the match, tallying her team-leading 12th marker of the year. Sophomore Maddy Howard (Medfield, Mass.) doubled the advantage less than four minutes later.

Ellie Arsenault (Saco, Maine) drew the visitors back within one (2-1) with a goal in the 24th minute, placing a shot from the left side into the right corner of the net.
The Hawks' two-goal cushion was restored in the 39th minute by first-year Hannah Noel (Adams, Mass.).
Roger Williams held a 14-4 edge in shots after halftime, but neither team could add to its first-period goal total.
Sophomore Kelsey McGee (Kings Park, N.Y.) made two saves to earn her ninth straight win for the Hawks, who visit Endicott College Tuesday (6:30 p.m.).
