BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior Michelle Doody (Franklin, Mass.) had two of her match-high 17 kills down the stretch to help Colby-Sawyer College rally from two-set deficit for a 3-2 victory over the University of New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action Wednesday evening at the Campus Center.
After dropping the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-23, Colby-Sawyer took the next two (25-19, 25-23) to square the match. The Chargers found themselves in a early hole in the fifth and deciding set but rallied to pull away for a 15-12 triumph.
Doody added four total blocks for the Chargers (11-10, 5-2 TCCC), who snapped a four-match losing skid. Senior Stef Turner (Boxborough, Mass.) recorded a sizzling .619 attack percentage with 14 kills and just one error in 21 attempts. First-year Emily McBride (Strafford, N.H.) finished with 10 kills and three total blocks.
Junior setter Kristin Sawyer (Walpole, Mass.) was credited with 47 assists for the Chargers, while first-year libero Ally Le-Bruno (Medfield, Mass.) led the defense with a match-best 38 digs.

Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) paced the Nor'easters with 14 kills to go with four aces. Sophomore
Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.) added 12 kills and four total blocks. First-year
Angie Brunette (North Andover, Mass.) also had a strong game up front with a career-high seven total blocks, including three solo.
First-year setter
Maria Kuehl (Middleton, N.H.) posted a double-double with 39 assists and 13 digs. She also served up four of UNE's 14 aces.
The Nor'easters also received strong defensive performances from first-year
Kirsta Adie (Tyngsboro, Mass.), who had a team-high 18 digs, along with junior
Abby Davis (Somersworth, N.H.) and sophomore
Jackie Stone (Saginaw, Mich.), who combined for 24.
Colby-Sawyer returns to action Friday with a road match at the University of Maine Farmington (7 p.m.).
UNE (12-9, 2-3 TCCC) plays a conference tri-match with Gordon College and Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. Big Blue takes on Gordon at 1 p.m. and Wentworth at 3 p.m.
