Newbury cut the deficit to two just 1:39 into the second frame when sophomore Andi Maska (Roslindale, Mass.) found first-year Alex Chappell (East Haddam, Conn.) for a goal.
The rookie scored later in the 84th minute off a Hector Abudoj (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) assist to pull the Nighthawks to within one, but the hosts could find the equalizer in the remaining minutes.
