Senior Ellen Choinski registered her fifth double-double of the season in a 3-0 sweep of Lasell

Claire Varner (Breckenridge, Mich.) and
Ellen Choinski (Saunderstown, R.I.) each posted a double-double as the University of New England volleyball team cruised past Lasell College, 3-0, in a non-conference match Saturday morning at the Campus Center. Set scores were 25-10, 25-18, 25-8.
Varner recorded a match-high 14 kills to go with 13 defensive digs, while Choinski fueled the attack with 24 assists. Choinski matched her classmate with 13 digs, and was also a perfect 13-for-13 at the service line.
The Nor'easters (4-5) also received strong performances from first-year
Paige Curran (Chelmsford, Mass.), who won 12 points with nine kills and three services aces, as well as first-year
Lindsey Cashell (Merrimack, N.H.), who chipped in six kills and three aces.
Up front, UNE junior
Kristen Edwards (Laconia, N.H.) added six kills and three block assists, and first-year
Jackie Stone (Saginaw, Mich.) had a strong match serving with four aces and 21-for-21 accuracy.
Lasell (5-8) received five kills apiece from sophomore Danielle Drapeau (Biddeford, Maine) and first-year Elizabeth Nichols (Southington, Conn.). Sophomore Amanda Major (Southbury, Conn.) was credited with a match-high 16 digs, while sophomore Jenna-Lynn Geary (Marion, Mass.) added 15.
