Box Score

NEWTON, Mass. -- Four different players found the back of the net as the University of New England defeated Mount Ida College, 4-1, in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

The Nor'easters won their second straight contest to improve to 3-1 overall. The Mustangs fall to 1-4 with the loss.

Sophomore Kiel Hiller (Galloway, N.J.) got the visitors on the board in the 16th minute, then assisted on a goal senior Dylan Saucier (Windham, Maine) in the 39th minute to give UNE a 2-0 lead at intermission.

Junior Cody Lapointe (Pownal, Maine) and senior Brian Cummings (Bow, N.H.) each added second-half goals for the Nor'easters, while Mount Ida's lone score came on a UNE own goal in the 64th minute.

UNE out-shot its opponent 24-8 for the game, only requiring goalie Jon Planer (Yarmouth, Maine) to make a pair of saves in victory.

The Mustangs, who received five saves apiece from sophomore Steven Enright (South Kingston, R.I.) and first-year Andrew Clark (Greenville, N.Y.), next visit Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Emmanuel College on Saturday.

The Nor'easters, who are 3-1 for the first time since 1997, travel to Gordon College the same day for a 2:30 p.m. TCCC battle.
