SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Senior Brody Savoie (Wilbraham, Mass.), sophomore Marty O'Brien (West Springfield, Mass.), and freshman Tajh Russell (Agawam, Mass.) each scored three goals to lead Western New England College to a 17-5 victory over visiting University of New England in quarterfinal round game of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Men's Lacrosse Championship Tuesday evening (April 28).
The Golden Bears, ranked 12th nationally, ran their winning streak to eight games in raising their record to 14-2.
Freshman Nick Jez (Somers, Conn.) and O'Brien each scored in the opening two minutes and WNEC was off and running in taking a commanding 10-0 lead after the opening period.
Freshman Andrew Mariani (East Brunswick, N.J.) also had a three-point outing with two goals and an assist while junior Tim Santye (Skillman, N.J.) contributed a pair of goals.

Luke DiFiore (Gloucester, Mass) scored twice and classmate
Michael Woods (Kittery Point, Maine) had a goal and assist for the Nor'easters who finished their season with a 6-10 record.
