Maegen Johnson (Standish, Maine) had a one-out double in the top of the seventh to break a 6-all tie, giving the University of New England a 7-6 win to complete a sweep of New England College in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference softball doubleheader.
The Nor'easters used a four-hitter by first-year pitcher

Trailing 5-2 in the nightcap, UNE knotted things up in the fifth by plating three runs. Junior
Jenn Waldecker (Hooksett, N.H.) had an RBI single, and the Nor'easters took advantage of an NEC error and passed ball to score their other two runs.

The sweep enabled the Nor'easters (21-11-1, 12-9-1 TCCC) to reach the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season. They conclude their regular season tomorrow with a home doubleheader versus Roger Williams University. First pitch at Claude Dubois Field is scheduled for noon.
