Luke DiFiore had a team-high three goals as the Nor'easters nearly knocked off Roger Williams

BRISTOL, R.I. -- Sean Benner scored three times in the final period -- including the game-winner and an insurance goal -- to give Roger Williams University a 12-10 win over the University of New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's lacrosse action Saturday afternoon.
With the score knotted at 8, the teams exchanged goals twice to make the score 10-all before Benner notched the game-winner with five minutes remaining. He would tack on a goal with 2:26 left to give the Hawks some additional breathing room.
The game was tight throughout and featured eight ties, including a 5-5 score at the half.
Dave Hurley scored five goals -- four in the first half -- to lead Roger Williams (8-4, 5-2 TCCC). Packy Markham contributed four scores, while Benner's three rounded out the Hawks' entire scoring total.
Luke DiFiore tallied three goals and added an assist for UNE. Dan Leyden scored two goals and set up one other, while Michael Pennacchio had a goal and an assist.
Nate Porter stopped 12 shots for the Nor'easters, (5-7, 0-6 TCCC), who host Gordon College on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
