BOSTON -- The Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards scored all eight of their goals in the second and third quarters on their way to an 8-6 The Commonwealth Coast Conference win over the University of New England Nor'easters Tuesday evening at Sweeney Field.

After the two squads played a scoreless first period, Wentworth struck for a pair of goals -- one by Chris Guilherme and the other by Bill Berringer -- in the opening 1:54 of the second stanza.  Guilherme would add another goal at the 8:55 mark to provide the hosts with a 3-0 advantage.

Sophomore Luke DiFiore set-up first-year Michael Pennacchio to get the Nor'easters on the board, then DiFiore notched a man-up goal to enable UNE to close within one (3-2).

Guilherme and Wesche scored just over a minute apart to give WIT a 5-2 lead with just over four minutes in the period before UNE senior Dan Leyden  rounded out the high-scoring quarter with his 22nd goal of the season.

The Nor'easters closed to within one for the second time on Pennacchio's second marker of the game, coming just 34 seconds into the third.

After the teams exchanged goals to make the score 6-5 in favor of the Leopards, Wesche notched back-to-back goals to put them up 8-5.

First-year Nick Cusick would tally the lone goal of the fourth quarter for the final margin of 8-6.

Wentworth (6-3, 3-2 TCCC) held a sizeable 46-27 advantage in shots to test UNE first-year goalie Nate Porter, who came up with 21 saves.

The Nor'easters (5-5, 0-4) are right back to action Thursday when No. 15 Endicott College invades Biddeford for a 4:00 p.m. start.
