UNE pushes win streak to three with 7-5 win at Salem State

Mike Woods' goal with just under five minutes to play proved to be the game-winner for the 3-1 Nor'easters

SALEM, Mass. -- Sophomore midfielder Michael Woods (Kittery Point, Maine) scored with 4:49 remaining to break a 5-5 deadlock, and senior Dan Leyden (Northfield, Mass.) added an insurance goal to give the University of New England a 7-5 non-conference men's lacrosse road win over Salem State College on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.

The win extends UNE's streak to three games, the program's longest stretch of victories in more than 10 years.  The Vikings now stand at 2-3.

Leyden had a four-goal performance to lead the way for the Nor'easters.

The Nor'easters (3-1) will be looking to make it four consecutive wins Wednesday (March 25) when they host Clark University at 4:00 p.m.
