Colorado College sends UNE to season-opening setback

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- First-year Carson Christman (Simsbury, Conn.) scored four goals to help the Colorado College Tigers even their record at 2-2 with an 11-3 victory over the University of New England Nor'easters on Wednesday afternoon at Washburn Field.

The Tigers outscored UNE 3-1 in each of the first three quarters to open up a 9-3 advantage.  CC tallied the only two goals of the fourth frame for the final margin of 11-3.

Senior Charley Perkins (Manchester Center, Vt.) and first-year Moses Taylor (Denver, Colo.) each added a pair of goals for the Tigers, who led in shots (39-23) and ground balls (34-29).

Senior Mike Nawrocki (Baldwin, Md.) and sophomores Michael Woods (Kittery Point, Maine) and Luke DiFiore (Gloucester, Mass.) scored for UNE.  First-year Dylan Thomas (Pleasantville, N.Y.) was credited with two assists.

First-year goaltender Nate Porter (Cohasset, Mass.) made 12 saves for the Nor'easters (0-1), who host Anna Maria College on March 17.
