WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Colby College Mules limited the University of New England to 26.8 percent shooting from the floor while forcing 20 turnovers to come away with a 72-48 non-conference men's basketball win Tuesday evening at Wadsworth Gymnasium.
Chas Woodward led four Colby players in double figures with 15 points. The 6'8" senior center posted a double-double with 12 rebounds in just 15 minutes of playing time. Michael Russell and Adam Choice both made 5 of 6 field goal attempts to finish with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Gil Haylon came off the bench to hit three 3-pointers en route to 11 points.

With the score tied 4-all just four minutes into the contests, the Mules went on a 21-6 run over the ensuing eight minutes to establish a 25-10 advantage. Colby would maintain a double-digit lead the remainder of the half and took a 35-18 cushion into intermission.
The hosts buried 63.6 percent (14 of 22) of their field goal attempts in the frame, compared to 21.4 percent (6 of 28) accuracy for the Nor'easters.
Colby (3-0) continued its hot shooting after the break, connecting on 59.3 percent (16 of 28) of its attempts over the final 20 minutes. In addition to their field goal accuracy, the Mules held a 43-25 advantage on the glass for the game.
The Nor'easters (2-4) suffered their worst loss since Feb. 17, 2007 when they dropped a 76-38 decision to Gordon College.
UNE will look to snap its three-game losing streak Thursday on the road at Eastern Connecticut State University (7 p.m.).
