BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Third-seeded University of England advanced to the semifinal round of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship presented by FieldTurf® with a 3-1 victory over No. 6 UMass Boston in women's soccer action Wednesday evening under the lights.
The Nor'easters (15-3) advance to the semifinal round for the second consecutive year and will visit No. 2 Keene State College, which blanked No. 7 Lesley University, 5-0. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Beacons end their season with a program-record 14 victories against six losses and one tie.

Ali Trafton (Manchester, Maine) got the Nor'easters on the scoreboard in the 12th minute, taking a pass from sophomore
Maggie Mahoney (Newburyport, Mass.) and sliding the ball just inside the right goal post to give UNE a 1-0 lead.
The score remained that way until the second half when sophomore
Sarah Richardson (Rochester, N.H.) set-up first-year
Karina Scavo (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.) for what turned out to be a much-needed insurance goal in the 76th minute.
UMass Boston would counter three minutes later as sophomore Kristin Mulry (Holbrook, Mass.) converted a rebound of her own shot for her team-leading 17 tally of the season.
Mahoney tacked on an unassisted goal with just under two minutes remaining for the final margin of 3-1.
Senior goalkeeper
Leigh Engel (Richmondville, N.Y.) needed five saves to record the win for the Nor'easters. Her counterpart -- senior Jessica Penta (Revere, Mass.) -- turned away seven shots.
