DUDLEY, Mass. -- Junior Mark Capitanio (Mansfield, Mass.) converted a free kick from just outside the box in the 58th minute to break a 1-1 tie and give Nichols College a 2-1 victory over the University of New England in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon.
After the Nor'easters had leveled the contest 3:18 earlier, Capitanio tallied his team-leading eighth goal to put the Bison back in front for good.

Owen Evans (West Stockbridge, Mass.) pulled UNE even with Nichols at the 53:57 mark, finding the back of the net with his fifth goal of the season off a pass from junior
Elia Del Molino (Glendale, Mass.).
The match was scoreless until the 39th minute, when Nichols senior Timothy Mann (Marshfield, Mass.) gave the hosts a lead on his first goal of the year.
For the game, the Bison dominated their opponents in both shots (31-14) and corners (11-4).

Jon Planer (Yarmouth, Maine) made 10 saves in a losing effort for UNE (10-6), which fell to 1-7-1 in its last nine meetings with Nichols.
The Bison (11-6), who were victorious for the third consecutive game, got three saves from sophomore Brendan Hamilton (North Attleboro, Mass.).
Each squad concludes the regular season Wednesday, as Nichols visits Colby-Sawyer College and the Nor'easters host conference leader Western New England College (4 p.m.).
Both teams enter the last game with a TCCC record of 7-5 and are part of a four-way tie for 5th in the league standings, leaving much to be decided on the final day.
