BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England Nor'easters received a first-half goal from Sarah Richardson (Rochester, N.H.) and a second-half tally by Michelle Epstein (Medway, Mass.) in a 2-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.

The win was the fifth in six outings for the Nor'easters (3-0 TCCC), who matched last season's entire win output.  The Chargers (2-4-2, 1-2) are without a victory in their last four starts.

UNE got into the scoring column in the ninth minute when Maggie Mahoney (Newburyport, Mass.) found Richardson, who drove a low shot off the left goal post and into the net.  The Nor'easters went into the half with a 1-0 lead after holding a slight advantage (5-3) in shots.

Mahoney had a hand in the second goal, sending a cross from the right flank in front of the goal mouth, where Epstein collected the ball and drove it home at 58:29.

The Chargers cut UNE's advantage in half in the 76th minute.  After a service from the right corner, the Nor'easters failed to clear the ball.  Elise Kapp (Yarmouth Port, Mass.) came up with possession and passed to Katherine Lee (Clinton, N.Y.), who registered her second goal of the season.

Leigh Engel (Richmondville, N.Y.) made four stops for the Nor'easters, who host Salve Regina University on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Christina Quirk (Milford, Conn.) had four saves for Colby-Sawyer, which travels to Roger Williams University on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
