BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England Nor'easters and Mt. Ida College Mustangs played to a 1-1 double-overtime draw Wednesday evening in non-conference men's soccer action.

With the Nor'easters trailing and less than three minutes to play in regulation, UNE sophomore Elia Del Molino (Glendale, Mass.) was credited with his first goal of the season on a scramble in front of the Mt. Ida goal mouth after the Mustangs failed to clear a UNE corner kick.

The Mustangs had taken a 1-0 lead late in the first half when the Nor'easters had trouble clearing a Mt. Ida corner kick.  Sophomore Simon Shallop (Guinea, West Africa) pushed home a low shot to the left side that nearly proved to be the game-winner.

Neither team had a strong scoring chance in the two 10-minute extra sessions.  Mt. Ida outshot UNE, 3-1, in overtime but trailed 20-11 for in that category for the contest.

Senior Kevin DosSantos (Cumberland, R.I.) had eight saves for the Mustangs, while junior Derek Poulin (Scarborough, Maine) turned away nine for UNE.

Both teams return to action Saturday.  Mt. Ida travels to Johnson & Wales University for a 3:00 p.m. game, while the Nor'easters host Nichols College at 2:30 p.m.
