WATERVILLE, Maine --- Sophomore forward Kayla Kawalick (Farmington, Conn.) tallied just 2:02 into the overtime for her first collegiate goal as the Colby College women's soccer team moved to 3-0 in non-conference play with a 1-0 victory over University of New England on Tuesday.
After a scoreless 90 minutes, first-year forward Nikki Pickering (Keene, N.H.) recorded her first collegiate assist on Kawalick's goal.
Colby (3-1) has not allowed a goal in three non-conference games and has given up just one goal in four games. Loni Pisani (Kanata, Canada) earned the shutout with seven saves as the Mules had a 22-15 edge in shots and an 8-2 margin in corner kicks.
Leigh Engel (Richmondville, N.Y.) stopped 12 shots for UNE, which falls to 3-1 overall. The Nor'easters play host to Nichols College Saturday at noon.
