BOSTON -- The University of New England volleyball team opened its The Commonwealth Coast Conference schedule with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) victory over the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards on Saturday afternoon at Tansey Gymnasium.

Sophomore Kristen Edwards led the way for the Nor'easters with 10 kills and was perfect on all 13 of her service attempts.  Senior Alex Toregas added seven kills to go with six blocks, while junior Claire Varner contributed six kills and six digs.

Senior Josie Raphaelito set up the offense with 31 assists.  Defensively, UNE received nine digs from Ellen Choinski and three solo blocks from Meghan Flynn.

The Nor'easters travel to Standish on Thursday (Sept. 18) for a non-conference match at St. Joseph's College.
