BIDDEFORD, Maine -- The University of New England extended its winning streak to five matches with a 3-0 victory over Gordon College in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's volleyball action Saturday morning.  Set scores were 25-16, 25-23, and 25-17.

In set one, Gordon held an early 11-8 lead before UNE went on a run to take the advantage.  Set two saw the Fighting Scots with another lead, this time 21-19, prior to the Nor'easters finishing on a 6-2 spurt.  UNE jumped out early to an 8-3 advantage in set three and never looked back.

Senior Alex Toregas (Chevy Chase, Md.) led the UNE attack with 12 kills and four blocks.  Junior Ellen Choinski (Saunderstown, R.I.) chipped in with 15 assists, 14 digs, and six kills.

Gordon College received nine kills from senior Blakley Burns (Laguna Beach, Calif.) and seven from senior Robin Smalt (Rye, N.Y.), while senior Kristen Klein (San Fernando, Calif.) totaled 25 assists.
