BEVERLY, Mass. -- Junior midfielder Caitlin Flynn scored a pair of first-half goals to help Endicott College overcome an early 1-0 deficit, and the Gulls went on to extend their unbeaten streak to 13 games with a 3-1 win over the University of New England Nor'easters on Tuesday afternoon.
The Gulls improved to 12-2-2 overall, 11-0-1 in TCCC play to pad their first-place standing. UNE suffered its second straight setback to fall to 11-3 (9-2 TCCC).
Sophomore
Kristin Meza got the Nor'easters on the board first, picking up a loose ball inside the box and lifting a shot over the head of Endicott's goalkeeper.
Flynn tied the score five minutes later, then netted the game-winner in the 33rd minute when she took advantage of a UNE turnover in the box and drilled a shot inside the left post.
Kayla Corbett tallied an insurance goal for Endicott in the 53rd minute off an assist from Allyson Bellemore.
The Gulls held advantages in shots (29-5) and corner kicks (6-0). Senior goalkeeper Amy Meuse needed just two saves to register the victory.
Junior
Leigh Engel came up with seven saves for the Nor'easters, who head to Western New England College for a TCCC game Saturday afternoon (2:30).
