BRISTOL, R.I. -- Katie Fusaro's header off a corner kick in the 21st minute was the only goal of the game, as Roger Williams University came away with a 1-0 victory over the University of New England in a clash of two of the top teams in The Commonwealth Coast Conference.

Winners of nine straight starts, second-place Roger Williams now stands at 12-2 overall and 10-1 in TCCC play.  The Nor'easters suffered their first conference loss (9-1) and saw their eight-game win streak come to an end to drop to 11-2.

Carey Baldwin placed a corner kick into the box, which Fusaro headed into the back of the net to provide the winning margin.

After holding a slim advantage (5-4) in shots during first-half play, Roger Williams outshot UNE 12-4 in the second to lead 17-8 for the match.

Leigh Engel had five saves for UNE, which plays a road match at Endicott College on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.).
