BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Senior
Alex Toregas (Chevy Chase, Md.) had nine kills and seven total blocks to lead the University of New England Nor'easters to a 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-16) victory over the WPI Engineers in a non-conference volleyball match played Saturday afternoon at the Campus Center.
The win improves the Nor'easters' record to 14-12, while the Engineers fall to 10-13.
Sophomore
Chelsea Boyle (Cumberland, R.I.) played a strong match for UNE, racking up 13 digs and five service aces. Classmate
Angie Gust (Manitowoc, Wisc.) had 13 digs and was 10-for-10 on serves received. Senior
Josie Raphaelito (Pine Hill, N.M.) contributed 13 digs and three aces.
UNE returns to action Wednesday when Regis College comes to town for a 7:00 p.m. match. The Engineers host Clark University Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
