PAXTON, Mass. -- Reigning The Commonwealth Coast Conference Rookie of the Week Maggie Mahoney scored three goals to provide the University of New England Nor'easters with their eighth straight win, a 3-0 shutout of Anna Maria College on Wednesday afternoon.

Mahoney tallied a pair of goals in the first half, the first one coming on an assist from Sarah Richardson and the second from Ali Trafton.  She then completed her hat-trick on a feed by Katie Caron in the 85th minute.

The Nor'easters were in control throughout the match and held a 30-5 advantage in shots.  Leigh Engel made three saves to register her fourth shutout.

Karine Almeida stopped 11 shots for the Amcats, who dropped to 3-8-4 overall, 0-8-1 in conference play.

The Nor'easters (11-1, 9-0 TCCC), who are tied with Roger Williams University for second place in the conference standings, will play a key road contest versus the Hawks on Saturday.
