WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- The University of New England Nor'easters split a pair of matches on day two of the 28th Annual Crabtree Classic hosted by Eastern Connecticut State University. UNE lost its first match to the host Warriors, 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 23-25), then bounced back to defeat Bridgewater State College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-22).
Junior
Claire Varner was named to the all-tournament team after totaling 15 kills and 33 digs in the two matches. She led the way in match one with a double-double (10 kills, 13 digs). Senior
Alex Toregas had seven kills in the loss to Eastern Connecticut, while sophomore
Chelsea Boyle (Cumberland, R.I.) came up with 14 digs.

Kristen Edwards had a team-high nine kills to help lead the Nor'easters over Bridgewater State. Toregas contributed seven kills and three blocks, while Varner led the way defensively with 20 digs. UNE also got strong performances from Boyle (12 for 13 on serves received) and junior
Ellen Choinski (20 assists).
The Nor'easters will put their unbeaten conference record on the line Tuesday when they head to Colby-Sawyer College for a 7:00 p.m. match.
