Wentworth scores late to salvage tie

BOSTON -- Jocelyn Martin scored on a free kick with 11:28 remaining in regulation to provide the Wentworth Institute of Technology Leopards a 1-1 tie with the University of New England in a The Commonwealth Coast Conference soccer match played on the turf Thursday evening at Sweeney Field.

The Nor'easters got into the scoring column first when #Amanda Smith# lifted a high shot to the upper right corner of the Wentworth net, giving UNE a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute.

Despite giving up its share of shots, the Nor'easters were able to hold their advantage until Martin converted on a set piece in the 79th minute.

For the evening Wentworth (6-6-2, 6-3-1 TCCC) held a 32-11 advantage in shots, but were able to get just 11 of its 32 attempts on net.

#Leigh Engel# made 10 saves for the Nor'easters (3-9-1, 3-6-1), who host Anna Maria College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
