Softball player Amanda Vaudreuil has been named UNE Athlete of the Month for March 2014.
Vaudreuil started her senior season on fire, batting .527 over the initial 16 games -- more than half (9) were multi-hit outings, and she registered four hits on three different occasions.
She totaled 22 run scored and drove in 20 more during the period. Eleven of her 29 hits went for extra bases (8 doubles, 3 home runs), helping establish an .836 slugging percentage.
Vaudreuil scored five runs in a game at Wentworth, tying the most by a UNE player in over 18 years. In game two against the Leopards, the shortstop had seven runs batted in to match the program single-game mark in the same time span.
