Women's lacrosse player Hannah Tavella has been named the UNE Athlete of the Month for March 2013.

Tavella netted 31 goals in eight games during the period, while dishing out seven assists. She scored at least four goals in six of those contests, including registering six markers (one shy of her career high) against both Eastern Connecticut and Roger Williams.

During the month, the junior attacker moved into second place on the program's all-time goals and points lists, passing Danielle Cate '11 and Ruth Ness '05 in both categories to advance from where she began the year (4th). Tavella has 139 career goals and 171 career points entering April.
