Softball player Ashley Gott has been named UNE Athlete of the Month for March.
Gott, a junior from Winterport, Maine, helped guide the Nor'easters to 15 wins during the period and the top spot in the early-season TCCC standings. She hit .492 (30-for-61) in the month, and put together a 12-game hit streak in the middle of the team's 20 contests. Additionally, Gott scored 21 times, drove in 15 runs, had eight doubles, and was a perfect 8-for-8 on steal attempts. In the conference opener at Gordon College, she posted a season-high three RBI, which included her lone home run on the year.
Defensively, the catcher finished the month with a .989 fielding percentage, committing just one error in 91 plays. Gott also threw out six of 11 baserunners attempting to steal against her.
