Women's lacrosse player Danielle Cate has been chosen UNE Athlete of the Month for April.

Cate, a junior attacker from Boscawen, N.H., posted 36 goals and added five assists in 10 contests during the period. On the April 1 against Salve Regina, she scored a school single-game record nine times, leading the Nor'easters to a 22-12 victory. Cate followed that up with a six-goal performance in a win over Southern Maine to earn the TCCC Offensive Player of the Week honor.

For her efforts during the regular-season, Cate was named to the first team all-TCCC.
