Field Hockey forward Taryn Flagg has been chosen University of New England Athlete of the Month for November.
Flagg, a senior from Livermore Falls, Maine, recorded seven goals and an assist in four games last month as the Nor'easters were eliminated from the TCCC Championship and then swept through the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England Championship to earn the school's first ECAC title in any sport.
In the ECAC championship game, she scored all three UNE goals -- including the game-winner 2:14 into overtime -- as UNE knocked off Plymouth State University, 3-2.
Finishing a season during which she broke nearly every program scoring record, Flagg was honored with the TCCC Player of the Year award and all-TCCC first team nod. In addition, she was named to the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III all-America third team and New England East Region first team, as well as the ECAC Division III New England Region first team.
