Ashlynn Nuckols joined the UNE staff for the 2024-25 academic year as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance & Business.
She came to UNE after 12 years (2012-24) at Norwich University [NCAA III], where she held the same position, in addition to serving as head coach of the women's volleyball program and holding the title of Senior Woman Administrator. She was responsible for overseeing 21 varsity sports under the compliance heading, while supervising the game day operations staff for the department, and advising the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). On the volleyball court, Nuckols' teams made a total of five conference tournament appearances and achieved 15 victories three straight times around the pandemic-altered year. She also spent seven years as an adjunct professor.
Prior to Norwich, Nuckols had single season stints as an assistant volleyball coach at Clarkson University [NCAA III] and Shenandoah University [NCAA III] in 2011 and 2010, respectively.
Nuckols earned bachelor's degrees in both physical education and sports management from Davis & Elkins College in 2009, while playing four seasons (2005-08) of volleyball for the Senators [NCAA II]. She was a two-time all-conference selection during her playing career, and wound up with 1,262 kills (.305 hitting percentage) and 355 blocks over 437 sets.
She then completed a master's degree in health and human performance from Austin Peay State University in 2010, and later finished an MBA while at Norwich in 2019.
