Playing Experience
Burns swam four seasons at the College of Holy Cross [NCAA I], competing in breaststroke and distance freestyle events.

Education
Burns graduated from Holy Cross in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in biology, and then attained a master's degree in natural sciences (with a focus on clinical epidemiology) from the University of Buffalo. He is currently a second-year medical student at UNE's College of Osteopathic Medicine.
