Venditti came to Biddeford with 13 years of collegiate head coaching experience, including the previous nine years at Colby College [NCAA III], and the four before that at the University of Southern Maine [NCAA III]. While Venditti was at Colby, the Mules had 86 wins and 22 ties while qualifying for postseason play eight times, which included three semifinals and an appearance in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championship game in 2008.

Southern Maine achieved a national ranking under Venditti's direction while making it to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's East League semifinals on four occasions and posting a 60-34-8 record.

Prior to breaking into the collegiate coaching ranks, Venditti served as the boys' varsity coach at Cheverus High School for seven years. He also served as director of USA Hockey Girls' Player Development for New England.
