Prior to UNE: was a National Honor Society student while attending North Yarmouth Academy... received the Captain's Award for the ice hockey team.. was the MVP in baseball and an all-state selection in volleyball... was a two-year captain with the Northern Cyclones.

Personal: his parents are Claudette and Don Simms... is majoring in applied exercise science... has performed community service with The Doggie Cottage in Gray and the Gray Animal Farm.
