Saari played three season (2015-18) as a goalie for Fitchburg State University [NCAA III]. In 32 career games, he posted a 2.88 goal against average and .918 save percentage on the way to a 17-10-3 record. Saari had eight wins in 2017-18 when the Falcons won their league tournament to reach the NCAA Championship.
