Kasey Keenan has been the coach of the men's golf program at UNE for the last 21 years, and started the women's program in 2024-25.

The men have won at least one event in five of the last six seasons, including two in the fall of 2021. The first time the program captured a title was in 2010; the second that year was the Maine Intercollegiate Championship.

Women's golf competed in its first conference championship in the fall of 2025, just days after winning their first event at the UNE Invitational. The Nor'easters placed fourth out of six at the inaugural Conference of New England Championship, and had two players tie for first place individually. Then, in a three-way playoff for the title, Abby Flanagan dropped a birdie on the second extra hole for the victory.

Within the Athletics Department, Keenan is also the Tournament Director for the department's annual fundraiser, the Vaughn Twaddel Golf Classic. Additionally, he spent eight seasons as assistant coach for the men's basketball team between 2002-12, and served as the Coordinator of Intramural and Club Sports from his start at UNE through 2009.

A 2002 graduate from the University with a bachelor's degree in sport and fitness management, Keenan enjoyed an athletic career that included playing four years of basketball, three years of golf, and one of soccer for the Nor'easters. On the court, he averaged 10.0 points and 4.1 assists over 88 games, and still ranks fifth in program history for three-pointers made (210). On the golf course, Keenan carded a career-low of 75 to place second individually at the 1999 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship.

The Presque Isle, Maine native and his wife, Colleen, reside in Old Orchard with their children, Harper and Myles.
