Personal: her parents are Janet and Naim Syed... undergraduate major of medical biology, working on doctorate of dental medicine... a Dean's List student, member of the CCC Academic All-Conference Team, and inductee into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society.

Prior to UNE: competed in varsity soccer, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field at Belmont High School... served as captain of all three programs... first team all-state as a senior in soccer.
