CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine -- The University of New England men's golf team took fourth place out of seven institutions at the Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) Shootout, which was played Tuesday (Sep. 29) at the Purpoodock Club.

The Nor'easters carded 329 on the day to close behind the University of Southern Maine (300), Husson University (312), and the host Seawolves (313).

UNE's score was a collection of an 80 from Owen Lee, an 81 out of Noah Fay, and rounds of 84 by both Sean Guerrette and Sean Zerega.

USM's Will Farschon led the field of 35 players with a one-over-par 72 -- three shots clear of the next closest competitor.

The Nor'easters continue their busy week by hosting the UNE invitational at Cape Arundel Golf Club on Thursday (10:30 a.m.). Looming on the weekend is the 2026 Conference of New England Men's Golf Championship in Connecticut.
