MANCHESTER, Maine -- Rounds of 76 from Owen Lee, Noah Fay, and Sean Guerrette powered the University of New England men's golf team to a season-low score of 309 and a top-three showing out of nine programs at Maine Maritime Academy's Mariners Invitational on Tuesday (Sep. 22) at Augusta Country Club.

Competing for the third time in four days, the Nor'easters notched their best finish of the year, winding up behind only Husson University (288) and the University of Southern Maine (303). Southern Maine Community College (322) and the University of Maine-Presque Isle (324) were next in line after UNE.

Lee, Fay, and Guerrette each recorded a pair of birdies on the day, en route to a share of seventh position in the 45-player field. Lee's path to 76 also included 11 pars, while Guerrette's featured a one-under 34 on the front. Sean Zerega completed the Nor'easter total with an 81.

Husson's Juan Hernandez topped all competitors with a one-over-par 71.

UNE will be at the SMCC Seawolf Shootout at the Purpoodock Club next Tuesday.
